Going far away from the perimeter is tempting because it can help you to solidify the grid more quickly. However, if your enemy touches the wall you're building, a red trail starts immediately towards you. If the red trail touches you before you can get back to the perimeter, you will die. This happens very quickly. Oranges are your friend because they make your enemies move more slowly. If you stumble across a blinking yellow circular object, eat it up because it makes your enemies fear you giving you an advantage over them. Strawberries make your enemies stop moving altogether.
