Worms Zone, a real-time multiplayer game with elements similar to slither snake games, positions players as worms eating their way through battle arenas in infinity, time, treasure-hunter and current-event modes.
The player, as their worm avatar, must eat food found in the battle arena without hitting any other worm. Their goal is to grow and stay alive as long as possible. If they run into another worm, they die and become various types of food and boosters for the other worm. If another worm runs into them, they can eat it to grow larger and collect boosters. The game's boosters, referred to as power-ups, include enhanced magnetic, speed and zoom abilities. The player can also buy power-ups with coins that they collect in the arena. They can use coins to upgrade their worm's skin, color and face.
Worms Zone offers plenty of semi-free options to acquire power-ups, coins and apple baskets. The player must watch various ads to use these options, which include a daily gift, a treasure chest and a spin wheel.
If the player wants to track their gameplay, they can review their best score, best survival time, number of times defeated, number of games played and total time played. They can also review their rank as compared to local and global players on leaderboards by mode.
