Powerline.io is a multiplayer battle-arena snake game with an electricity theme. The player directs the movements of a colored laser line with a white glowing head called a Powerline for as long as possible. Their goal is to grow the Powerline, earn points and rank high on a global leaderboard.
The player starts by deciding to play with or without a username. If they want to play against friends, they can copy the link by using the text at the upper-left corner. They then enter the game and direct their Powerline to slither through energy crystals that appear intermittently in the arena and after the death of an enemy snake. They also direct their Powerline to slither close to other Powerlines to boost it. Additionally, they might direct their Powerline, after it grows a bit, toward the highest-ranking player's snake to collect the highest boost and attempt to trap it or others and collect their crystals.
Powerline.io punishes the player's actions in only three ways. Their Powerline dies if they run it into the edge of the arena, attempt to make the glowing head cross its own body, or run into another Powerline head-on. Conversely, they destroy other Powerlines by tricking enemy players to run head-on into the body of their Powerline.
How to play:
Start with or without a username. Direct the Powerline through intermittent and dead enemy energy crystals. Trick other players and collect their crystals. To stay away from or go after the King Powerline, marked with a crown, review the top player's movements on a lower-right corner mini map.
Controls:
Keyboard: To start the game, use the Enter key. Although the game recommends using the directional Arrows to direct the Powerline, the Arrows become problematic when the game isn't in full-screen mode. Either use F to enter full-screen mode or use the WASD keys. To communicate with other players, use the T key.
Mouse: Click buttons.
Mobile: Tap buttons.
