Mahjong Duels, however, is not just your typical solitaire. The game features different themed Mahjong inspired by different ancient civilizations. These include Egypt, Greece, Rome, Mayan, India, and ancient China. You can unlock these locations upon reaching certain levels. Aside from different themed mahjong tiles, you can also obtain collectible cards that contain historical and geographical information about the featured ancient civilization, making this game not just fun but also educational. Every time you entered a duel, the system will randomly search for an online opponent. Whoever finishes the game first will win the match. The game grants the winner with chips that are used to enter battles and points that you use to gain new levels. Appearance-wise, this game is also an absolute visual delight, providing you with a different atmosphere per civilization. How to play:
The mechanics of the game are very simple. If you have experienced playing the classic Mahjong Solitaire, then you should know the drill. As soon as the game starts, it prompts you to your main dashboard. Here, you can access all the civilizations. For starters, the first theme to explore is Egypt and you are initially given 150 Chips to enter duels. Each match requires you to pay a certain number of chips. The system will randomly generate and match you to an online opponent. Once done, both players will be prompted to the mahjong board. The layout of the mahjong will change dynamically which makes this game extremely unpredictable. It means that every attempt takes you to an entirely new arrangement. Simply click the tiles to start matching. You can match pair of open pair of identical tiles to remove them from the board and reveal the next layer of tiles underneath. You are given two free slots but you can unlock the third one in exchange for gems (premium currency). If you get stuck, you can take advantage of other abilities including the Undo (undo previous action), Reveal (only highlights the open tiles), Shuffle (shuffle current tile formation), and Hint (reveals a valid move). The winner will receive rewards in the form of chips, exp points, and a trophy. Collecting five trophies will unlock a collectible card which gives Mahjong Duels an impressive replay value and longevity. The game also features a Leaderboard system where you can compete with other players via a score chart. It displays the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly best players.
