Toon Cup 2020 allows a player to compete in soccer matches with Cartoon Network's most popular characters in two different modes. The player can allow the game to pick their team for a Quick Match or pick a team of their own from available characters for the Tournament mode.
Once the player has their team, they must use the characters to kick and pass a ball across the field via turn-based play and then kick it into the opposing team's net to make a goal. They keep making goals until a timer counts down to zero.
The game gives the player boosters as well, including lightning, snow and shield boosters. They merely need to collect boxes that appear on the field. Daily challenges also exist. For example, they might need to score four goals using any player or win a tournament with a team that features a specific character.
Lastly, Toon Cup 2020 allows the player to unlock upgrades with coins in an Unlockables area, including characters (Raven, XLR8, Onion, Kelsey and Batgirl), stadiums (Tropical Beach, Neon City and Street Football), stats of different characters and a variety of balls in different colors and patterns.

How to play:
Direct any character bordered with a circle and arrow to kick, pass or shoot the ball. Access boxes to use boosters. Beat the opposing team by scoring the most goals. Unlock different areas to use coins to purchase upgrades.
Controls:
Keyboard: Toon Cup 2020 is designed for use with a keyboard. To make a character run in any direction, press Left Arrow, Down Arrow, Up Arrow and Right Arrow. Alternatively, use A, S, W and D. To slide one character into another character or pass the ball, press Spacebar. To perform a power-shot kick, hold down the Spacebar key to load power, and then release it.
Mouse: To make selections, click buttons and objects.
Mobile: To make selections, tap buttons and objects.
