Scrap Metal 2022 takes the Scrap Metal series in a different direction than the previous installments. The player drives and destroys unique supercars in an unfinished environment that represents a game designer's map-building tool.

The player doesn't receive an option to customize systems or the level of realistic damage from crashes, as offered with the previous installments. Instead, they only control how they use the location and massive stunt-related items in their inventory to turn each vehicle into scrap metal. They also control the placement of items, which they can rotate to the left and right or delete at any time.

The game has an open location with a prototype design grid in sections on the ground and on natural objects like hills and cliffs. The area makes far away objects appear closer than expected and close objects appear farther than expected.

Tricky traps also exist in certain areas. The player might drive on a hill and then accidentally discover a giant pit in it made of a cul-de-sac and mini cliffs. A large body of water rests between the start position and distant mountains. At high speeds, the player can't see the water until it's too late. 

Scrap Metal 2022 offers one other unique element to the series. The player can set up an account with a blockchain wallet to save their progress and allow them to purchase an NFT of a limited-edition in-game rare car.

How to play:

Select a car. Drive across the unfinished terrain. Perform stunts. Set up stunts with inventory items. Switch cars. If desired, purchase the NFT.

Controls:

Keyboard: Scrap Metal 2022 requires a keyboard. To drive anywhere, use Arrows or WASD. To brake, use Spacebar. To change the camera view, use C. 
Mouse: Click buttons. To use inventory items, click and drag each one.
