How do players define Fall Guys games?

Fall Guys games are massive multiplayer games in the Battle Arena, Battle or Party Royale, and Obstacle Course subcategories of elimination-style Fighting and Racing games. Dozens of players, via avatars, play minigames in elimination rounds in three-dimensional environments until only one player remains and wins the championship. Players love these games because of cute or wacky avatar characters, fun, competitive tournament challenges and exciting opportunities to win. Beyond the original Fall Guys games, this subcategory features similar titles like Drop Guys, Fall Friends, LOLBeans.io, and Sea Guys. 

What's the play like in these games?

People from around the world access a platform either as guests or logged-in users. The AI, or CPU, of a specific platform typically chooses minigame rounds randomly. Each player is thrown into a unique obstacle course after they pick and customize their avatar. The platform briefly shows them the entire event space via a flyby camera perspective, which can help them possibly see challenges and faster routes through an obstacle course. That said, a few Fall Guys games, such as Fall of Guys: Rocket Hero and Tricky Track 3D, are only based on the original game and feature arcade side-scroller fighting against in-game characters or player versus player action. The Fall Guys series is best known for its anthropomorphic bean-shaped characters that goofily fall and jump or run on short legs while waving around long arms with or without unique skins or costumes. Similar games offer oddly-shaped animal and stickman avatars as well. 

How do Fall Guys games challenge players?

The challenges depend entirely on the game. The original Fall Guys games challenge players to survive every elimination round. The minigames vary widely. For example, a player might need to direct their avatar to run across floor panels that fall away, earn a specific score, grab an item, or reach a finish line before time runs out. One game forces the player to direct their bean avatar to stay inside of a moving cylindrical column of light long enough to reach a specific percentage score while dealing with moving floors and objects in the way. Common obstacles include barriers and walls, cannons, conveyor belts with reverse buttons, and rotating and sliding floors and paddles. In arcade games, the player might also face endless fighting scenarios in which they're bumped back to the start of the game if their avatar dies. Yet, the biggest challenge comes from other players. Some players direct their avatars to knock the avatars of their competitors out of the way. Sneak attacks are common.
