Dig This is a ball-and-cup game primarily located in an underground setting. The player must use common sense, deductive reasoning skills and experiences with science to dig through soil to roll one or more green balls into cups inside of oubliettes.
The game has three main areas (Sandbox, Multi-Color and Boombox), but the player can only unlock an area by playing all the levels in the previous area. For example, they must finish all 20 progressively difficult Sandbox levels to unlock the Multi-Color area.
The player must do more than create tunnels. They must think about how an object falls because of gravity and how the shape of a tunnel impacts the movement of a ball. They must sometimes use other objects to help, such as rolling a stone to push a ball. The game also features unmovable objects like barriers and rods of varying sizes that the player must find a way to tunnel around without a ball becoming stuck in a corner.
If the player does well, a ball rolls into one of the revealed cups. Golden stars appear around the cup like fireworks. When the level ends, multi-colored confetti fills the air.
How to play:
Look at the location of the ball. Imagine creating a line on the screen between it and the cup. Draw the line between the two objects as a tunnel. Use other available objects to help move the ball through the tunnel. Watch out for objects that block the ball's path.
Controls:
Mouse: To create a tunnel from a ball to a cup, position the cursor under the ball, press the left button, and slide the mouse until the cursor and tunnel reach the cup. Click any spot to create a hole instead of a tunnel.
Mobile: To create a tunnel from a ball to a cup, position the cursor under the ball, press the screen or trackpad, and slide the tip of a finger or stylus across the surface until the cursor and tunnel reach the cup. Tap any spot to create a hole instead of a tunnel.
