2048 is a fun single-player sliding tile game! Use the arrow keys to add tiles together until you reach 2048! You don't need to be a math whiz to master this game. Hint: strategy is your friend! Plan ahead to win the game. Pick a corner, build a number sequence, and merge until you can't anymore! Multiplying by 2 has never been so entertaining!

It's a race to reach 2048!

2048 is another version of the popular, 2014 grid-style, sliding-tile game of the same name. A player starts out with two white "2" tiles that they must merge together on a 4x4 grid. After they perform the merge, more "2" tiles appear on the board. They must continue to slide and merge tiles of the same number together to create higher-numbered tiles as quickly as possible until they reach the "2048" tile.

For example, when they merge "2" tiles they create a single blue "4" tile. With each merge, they go higher (i.e. orange "8," red "16," yellow "32," dark blue "64," light blue "128" and so on). This version of 2048 is timed, but doesn't penalize the player in any way for going too slowly.

If the player can't merge together any more tiles before reaching "2048," a bearded character appears onscreen with the words "Game Over" and mocks the player by saying "so Bad..." in a speech bubble. The screen also displays their current and best scores.

How to play:

Combine "2" tiles to make a "4" tile. Repeat with additional "2" tiles that appear on the board. Shift lower-numbered tiles in left, right, up and down directions to make higher-numbered tiles. Repeat this process to reach "2048."

Controls:

Keyboard: To shift and merge matching tiles quickly, press the Left Arrow or A key to move them left, Right Arrow or D to move them right, Up Arrow or W to move them up, or Down Arrow or S to move them down.
Mouse: To merge matching tiles, press and hold down the left button, and slide the mouse in the desired direction.
Mobile: To merge matching tiles, press the screen or trackpad, and then slide the finger or stylus in a direction.
