Brawl Stars is a group of Battle Arena, Battle Royale, Fighting and Shooter games. A player competes against or joins friends, other online players or AI characters in solo, duo, duel and 3v3 team battles using unlockable avatars (i.e., Brawlers) that possess unique abilities, fighting techniques, personalities and physical characteristics.
Supercell, a Finnish game company, released the first Brawl Stars game globally on December 12, 2018. The game features more than 80 Brawlers and hundreds of skins and custom accessories. Over time, it spawned many successors by other developers, including simulators that act like tutorials to help new players learn how to unlock boxes containing new Brawlers in earlier games or earn credits to unlock the same types of characters in later ones.
How do Brawl Stars games challenge players?
The many different Brawl Stars games and associated modes offer a wide variety of objectives beyond simply winner-take-all melee fighting. Although players eliminate opponents, they also often need to take or destroy the bases or items of other players; grab the highest number of a specific object in a territory, such as gems or stars; earn the highest points; and compete in trophy championships.
A player can't earn currency (i.e., points, coins, credits or gems) or level up or upgrade their Brawlers without competing in some way. In some games, they need a lot of funds to unlock and collect the rarest of Brawlers. There are a wide range of mini games that can help the player earn the currency needed to unlock boxes and Brawlers and make custom changes. For example, a player might use a Brawler to compete against three other people in a minigame that features Pac-Man-style mechanics (i.e., collecting pellets and destroying other avatars).
Why do people love to play Brawl Stars games?
As with many fighting games, players enjoy the thrill of discovery as they learn each Brawler's normal and special attacks and receive access to a variety of fun gadgets, weapons and tools that make the characters more powerful. That said, Brawl Stars games offer players more than fighting or survival scenarios. Players can compete with other players to collect every Rare, Super Rare, Epic, Mythic and Legendary Brawler. They can also create maps, create or join clubs and leagues, and participate in exclusive special events. They can even invest in a premium upgrade to a special Brawl Pass that gives them access to VIP extras.
