Durak card game

Durak is a classic card game popular in post-Soviet countries, where the goal is to clear your hand of cards before anyone else. The player left holding cards at the end is deemed the "durak" or "fool." It's a fun game for two to six players, best played with a 36-card deck. To create this deck, just remove all cards numbered 2 through 5 from a standard 52-card deck. With up to six players, the game presents interesting dynamics, giving an edge to the first attacker and adding a challenge for the initial defender. Some versions of the game also use multiple decks. To start, the player holding the lowest trump card becomes the initial attacker, though they don’t have to use this card first. The person seated to their left takes on the role of the defender. Play then moves clockwise. If the attacker’s move succeeds, the defender doesn’t get a turn and the next attack passes to their left. On the other hand, if the defense is successful, the defender becomes the new attacker. Durak is a strategic and engaging game that challenges players to outthink their opponents while having a great time.
