The Last Tater is the online version of the survival action game of the same name. It features a variety of elements at different points in the action, including gameplay commonly seen in platformer, open world, shooter and side-scrolling games.
The player's original character is cursed to become the last tater tot after they eat the last tater on a plate with ketchup. They're placed in a room in Hell where a wall monster will eat them over and over again until the end of time. Yet, the room isn't an oubliette without an exit. The demo offers hidden features and areas. The player via their tater avatar can slide off the table and escape with the help of a small, friendly mouse who loves cheese.
The primary goal of the player in The Last Tater is to survive the many dangerous environments they then find outside of the room. They must complete tasks and missions that the mouse gives them while staying away from deadly obstacles and sentient threats. For example, cockroach-like insects are a common enemy. If the tater touches just one of these creatures, the player must restart the level entirely or from a save point.
How to play:
Escape the Hell room by bribing the mouse with cheese found on the floor. Follow the mouse through a maze of dark crawl spaces into a bathroom and down a toilet drain. Kill enemies with a gun provided by the mouse. Collect coins. Upgrade the tater's appearance and abilities.
Controls:
Keyboard: To move left or right, press the A or Left Arrow and D or Right Arrow keys, respectively. To jump, press the Up Arrow key.
Mouse: To aim, slide the mouse. To shoot, click the left button.
Mobile: To aim, slide a finger or stylus across a touch pad or screen. To shoot, tap the surface.
