Controlling the gameplay: On a computer, use the keys FTSYV to move your character around. For camera control, use your right mouse button (RMB). To place a plant, click on the desired plant button, then use your left mouse button (LMB) to select a cell. And to collect suns, simply click on them with your LMB. When playing on a phone, you can use the joystick for character movement. Pinch the screen to control the camera. To plant something, tap on the chosen plant and then tap on a cell. Collect suns by tapping on them.
