One of the most fun and best time killing games I have ever found, bubble shooter is a game in where you match bubbles together that are in the field with bubbles coming out of a cannon like piece of equipment on the game floor. You match colors to pop the bubbles and they explode. The more bubbles you pop together the bigger the explosion and the more fun you have. I can truly spend hours playing games in this genre. This is a great game to help young kids learn color combinations and how cause and effect works (you add in more bubbles and you make bigger pops). The graphics are really old fashioned but that's the fun of games like this. They make you remember the days when you were just killing time playing games on your computer using flash before the days of big console games and computers that were able to run high end graphics. All in all this game is a 10 out of 10 for pure fun and nostalgia and re-playability.
In the mid-1980s, shooter style games that featured bubbles became popular in arcades. Since then, a lot of new and updated versions of these classics have appeared on free game sites. Bubbleshooter represents another great bubble shooting game in this fine tradition.
The game loads immediately on the main screen. The player doesn't have to click or tap any sort of button to start it. After the page loads, the board appears as a lavender background with a variety of colorful bubbles displayed at the top of the play field. The board has a right sidebar that features a pink "Help" button that pops up a screen that explains in simple terms how the game works; a teal "Sound" button that allows the player to adjust the sound; a green "Restart" button the player can use to restart the game at any time; and a yellow "Top 10" button that displays top scores. It also has a dark blue "More Games" button.
Bubbleshooter starts at a novice level. The player's only goal is to earn as many points as possible by clearing the play field quickly of all of the bubbles. To accomplish this task, they must use an arrow-shaped pointer and shooter tool located at the bottom of the board.
To clear the bubbles, the player must look for a bubble in the last row at the top of the play field that's both the same color as the bubble used in the shooter and touching two or more bubbles of the same color. They use their mouse, keypad or finger to align the tip of the arrow with the bubble and then click or tap the screen to release the bubble from the shooter.
With successful alignment, the bubble in the shooter strikes the row bubble and that bubble along with any bubbles of matching color nearby explode and disappear. If the bubbles disappear along a diagonal path through and then overtop other colored bubbles, the bubbles below them also disappear unless they're attached to nearby ones. The game refers to this type of event as an "avalanche."
Bubbleshooter keeps track of all points on the right sidebar above the level name. The game distributes points based on the number of bubbles destroyed in a single shot. As a result, a player receives more points when they destroy a high number of the same colored bubbles or three of the same and any avalanche bubbles. Another way to look at it is that the player receives less points for two shots that destroy six bubbles than one shot that resulted in the same or a higher amount of damage. The game also doubles the player's total points at the time the player clears the entire field.
If the player fails to clear any bubbles with a shot, the shooter bubble sticks to the bottom of the last row until the player can stick another bubble of the same color from the shooter to it and then explode the two bubbles with a third one of the same color. If too many misfires take place, as indicated by the loss of silver bubbles at the bottom of the board, the game adds another row and all rows shift down the play field closer to the shooter. Eventually, too many misfires fills the field with bubbles and forces the player to restart the game.
Click to release the bubble. Make combinations of 3 or more bubbles to make them dissapear and score points.
